Behind everything we do in life, there is motivation, behind the motivation there is an idea, behind the idea there is passion and passion is that invisible force that sometimes forces the life paths to be turned, twisted or take us in an unexpected direction. Well, that’s how ZS Firepits were born or something like that. So one might ask what is ZS passion then? The answer is probably unexpected. Our passion or my passion or ZS Passion is insanely beautiful Canadian nature, Canadian lakes, Canadian wilderness and any adjective I choose to describe the beauty of it is probably not good enough.
One passion leads to another and the desire to experience Canadian nature lead or motivated me to start with outdoor activities and of course my favorite one is camping. There are no words to describe the feelings when the sounds of nature slowly surround the tent while falling asleep after long day of paddling or hiking. The sounds of wind swaying the tree tops, the sounds of rain drops falling and hitting the leaves or nearby lake surface and all this occasionally interrupted with majestic loon calls, and so on and so on.
Before I get carried away and before I forget why I am here, I need to find the way to go back to my main subject. So camping or any other outdoor activity is usually followed by some secondary activities and one of them is the outdoor camp fire and cooking on the fire, and along with it, some gadget almost forgotten in the modern world. That gadget is a cooking Tripod. Nothing new as an idea and probably known since the dawn of time, but I needed one. Being a steel fabricator or maybe its in my nature, I always first explore ways of building things with my own hands. Long story short ZS Tripod was born. As I said earlier, nothing new as an idea, but I had to build one so it is as different as possible from all other ones out there; hopefully, better in style and functionality. Whether I succeeded or not I will leave it up to others and users to judge.
Since the reason I'm writing this are the fire pits, I still owe you the explanation on how they were born, how did I go from tripods to fire pits? At this point, I need to bring another ingredient in the mix, and if I ask you what would that be I think majority of us would get it wrong. That ingredient is COVID. COVID tied us to our homes and forced us to come up with new ways to enjoy the outdoor activities in our own backyards. I couldn’t go camping but at least I could still smell and hear the crackling sounds of the fire while enjoying the glass of wine or cooking some of my favorite Tripod and open fire recipes.
So there you go, that’s how ZS Firepits came to be, for now just octagonal and round models. These shapes and firepits in general are not new, but I tried to make them as different as possible, as stylish as possible and with touch of Canadian nature and Canadian spirit.
Thank You for visiting our web site and thank you for reading ZS and our Canadian story.
